DaRon Bland Reflects on Game-Sealing Fumble in Cowboys' Victory Over Bucs: 'It Was a Great Feeling
The Dallas Cowboys recently defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, winning four of their last five games, including three big upsets against playoff teams. Even though the Cowboys had already been eliminated from playoff contention, their defense, led by DaRon Bland, was determined to make things difficult for quarterback Baker Mayfield.
Jourdan Lewis made a crucial play, intercepting a pass that could have been a touchdown, while Bland sealed the win with another interception to stop running back Rachaad White. Mayfield was also sacked four times and fumbled, though he recovered it. The Cowboys had several chances to intercept him earlier in the game but missed out.
Lewis, who had dropped an interception earlier, was determined to make up for it, and Bland was also focused on getting another chance to make a big play. "I was just trying to get that back," said Bland, smiling. After the Buccaneers had scored a touchdown earlier in the drive, ending the game with an interception felt really satisfying to him.
